American Cream Biography

It’s rare to find four musicians who are equally devoted to something as much as American Cream. Over the past few years, American Cream has evolved from a few friends jamming together to a group of artists with a comprehensive, unified goal. Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, American Cream seeks to resurrect the classic rock and roll sound of the sixties and seventies and combine it with the unforgettable and timeless indie rock of today. With influences that go back to the onset of the experimental age of rock and roll, they make it a point to have an organic approach to songwriting by being less electronically dependent. Using relatable modern melodies and unpredictable transitions, a seemingly perfect accidental combination of sounds is created. American Cream's inspiration comes from a collaboration of the mellow vibe of Tom Petty, the excitement of The Who, the rawness of Kings of Leon and the edgy guitar instrumentation of the Arctic Monkeys. Each of the band members brings something different to the table. Vince Pangallo, the lead singer and rhythm guitarist, serves as front man. Bassist Jake Wagner has an eclectic taste in music and makes an effort to stay on the forefront of what’s happening in today’s music scene. Lead guitarist Tyler Jones is a coordinator of sorts, always seeking perfection in the form of constant improvement. Drummer Charlie Gott, with a educational background in music, contributes his expertise through his intricate percussion and drumming style. The collaboration of these four guys is what gives American Cream an unmistakably refreshing sound. Above all, the band believes experimentation is the core of song development. For this reason, they often engage in lengthy jam sessions to identify the direction of each song. They make it a point to write their songs playing together, not on the computer screen, and to treasure the classic texture of core rock instruments. It seems as though there is as much debate about the songs than there is rehearsing. A fresh live experience and focused songwriting are the backbone of American Cream’s style. Locally, American Cream has played many venues in the city including House of Blues Las Vegas, Town Square, Monte Carlo Hotel, Green Valley Ranch Station, The Hard Rock Pool and the Fremont Street Experience. They've held residencies at Blue Martini and Bill's Gambling Hall on the Las Vegas Strip. Additionally, American Cream has played with bands such as Imagine Dragons, Young The Giant, Foxy Shazam, Vintage Trouble and many more. This years Life is Beautiful Festival will put them along side headlining bands like The Killers, Kings of Leon and Beck. The first self-titled EP by American Cream was recorded live at Battle Born Studios and is now available everywhere from iTunes to Spotify to iHeartRadio. Following the release of the EP, American Cream holds a spot with the Red Bull Sound Select artists' and plans to release more by the Life is Beautiful Festival this fall.
