After a seemingly ceaseless offering of high quality, anthemic sing-along roots-pop over the past year, Rach Brennan & The Pineshave arrived with their highly anticipated debut album ‘Here’s to Better Times & Seeing Better Places’The talented Rach Brennan, initially beginning her musical journey as a solo artist, began capturing confusing emotions relating to life and love and performing them on stages in her home-town of Geelong at the age of 17. Clearly channeling the sentiment of Carol King and the spirit of Dolores O’Riordan, it became apparent that to fully realise these compositions she would need a band. With her brother and longtime collaborator Liam Brennan she set out to form ‘The Pines’ - four remarkable vocalists, instrumentalists and performers in their own right. It wasn’t clear until after the formation of their group that what they were discovering together was indeed an album. Returning from Europe from a number of solo touring stints, Rach began a slew of successful independently released album cuts. The first single ‘Weapon of Love’ reached #4 on the iTunes Singer Songwriter charts in June 2018. The younger Brennan penned ‘I Wanna See You’ which charted #2 on the AMRAP Regional Charts and found success on Triple J’s Roots ‘N’ All: “It makes me so happy, every time I play it I feel like I am on the verge of public outbursts of laughter and dancing (like no one's watching - cliché but, true!). It's so rad!!!” - Nkechi‘Underground’, the first collaboration between the Brennan siblings, found success on Triple J Unearthed with Dave Ruby Howe declaring it - “Another strong offering from this band. It'll put some wind in your sail.” The final single along the string of pre-album releases was ‘Hindsight’, which is currently on Triple J Unearthed Rotation and has scored multiple plays on Triple J and it’s sister station Double J.Rach Brennan & the Pines have been born into the world kicking and screaming. Screaming so that their message will be heard; that ups, downs, wins and losses are all integral parts of love and life, and through the process of crafting their artwork they are bringing people together to sing together at the top of their lungs “Here’s to Better Times & Seeing Better Places.”
