WE HAVE TO LET THEM HEAR US ROAR!!!! Issimo is songwriting duo Marc and Abi, brought to life by an upbeat ensemble of brass, drums, bass, guitars and vocals, providing a unique blend of exotic sounds. They travel the world performing their songs acoustically, although occasionally you get the chance to see them with the full band (accompanied by the mischievous 'issimites') at festivals and live venues in the UK. After playing  'Shackles' on BBC 6 Radio,Tom Robinson  described the sound as "21st Century Mariachi version of the ‘Specials, and that is no bad thing’. The pair met at an Open Mic in Leeds UK, in late 2012, and began working on solo material for the Marc Otway band. The sound started changing from soul pop, into an amalgamation of latin and ska infused pop. As Abi started to have her share of lead vocals and having more of a creative input, they decided to change the name of the band. ‘issimo’ , is a suffix in Spanish and Italian (well know in music) which intensifies the meaning of a word, a lot like an exclamation mark. After The ‘Walking On The Sky’ Ep release, the pair decided that they wanted to hit the studio and create a body of music that explored a more ‘raw’ sound and a running theme was ‘beat up old instruments’, as well as world instruments like castanets, timbales and congas. Upcoming single ‘Roar’ features an instrument called a ‘Rubab’, which is a lute-like instrument originating from central Afghanistan. It will be the first piece of music officially released online since 2017, and will be celebrated by a launch party in Bradford Uk 30th August followed by some acoustic shows in LA and Austin Texas.
