Fake Figures Biography

Fake Figures hails from Southern California and features current/former members bands such as Atreyu, Scars of Tomorrow and Nation's Afire. The band formed In 2011 with the common interest of making music that blends elements of metal, alternative and punk while keeping an undertone of music from the late 90's. In December of 2011 the band released their first EP Hail The Sycophants which received critical praise and garnered key press from sources including MTV Buzzworthy, Revolver, Alternative Press, Punknews and more. The EP was produced by Pete Charrell and mixed by Shaun Lopez (FAR/Deftones/Crosses/Senses Fail).

In 2014 the band released their sophomore EP "They Must Be Destroyed" which was produced by Beau Burchell (Saosin/Taken). "TMBD" is a slight departure from the experimental sound the first EP; writing punk/hardcore/alternative tracks that took nearly 6 months for the band to pen, record and mix.

In 2019 the band signed to War Against Records (Pressure Cracks etc) and producer Kris Comeaux (Assuming We Survive) helped bring "Hole In the Sky" and their EP 'We Are The Dead' to life. Media coverage included Loudwire, Music Choice, New Noise, AltPress, Spotify (Rock This), BBC1 Radio, 92.9 KJEE, Big Takeover, Rebel Noise and many others. The EP dropped in November of 2019 on vinyl/digital, and featured guest vocals from Jonah Matranga (FAR/Onelinedrawing).

For 2023 the band is putting final touches on two new EPs with producer Kris Comeaux and will release a new single this Summer. The effort will mark the debut of new singer, and former Fake Figures drummer Steve Ludwig. Joining the band on drums is Matt Horwitz of Adamantium/18 Visions etc.
