The Hotline

The Hotline may hail from the greater Los Angeles area, but their penchant for huge guitar hooks, thumping basslines, and pounding drums providing the background for catchy melodies and thoughtful lyrics can reach anyone, regardless of their location. Formed in 2014, long time friends and occasional bandmates, David Romero and Tom Tovar enlisted friends Brian Zarate and Chris Sanchez to help them form the band that they knew they had the potential to be. Still needing that missing piece, Chris invited, high school friend, Jose Carrillo to jam. That day, they already started writing the songs that would become their debut EP. Quae Ultra is all about looking at what is beyond what is right in front of you. It is about not being content to accept that you are only what others say you are. Nothing has come easy to the band from struggling to get their name out there, struggling get their music out to people, even struggling not to implode. These 5 individuals with diverse and sometimes, opposite influences have come together to make something cohesive and bigger than any of them individually. With songs ranging from the highs and lows of young love, the reckless want for something that won't last more than a night, to the freedom of going out with your friends for a night no one is going to entirely remember filled with memories you'll never forget. The Hotline combines the youthful angst of a disillusioned generation with the musical confidence of knowing that if today is all they have, they're going to have a heck of a story to tell at the end.
