About this concert
TWISTED NERVE and 1919 (Edinburgh, 1978, and Bradford, 1980) head up this celebration of positive punk! The former make their (slightly overdue) Carpe debut, with new guitarist Dunsy (ex-Dead Eyes Opened) on board; whilst the latter should certainly be well known to you, as they've played for us a number of times since their "secret" reunion gig in 2015. Both will give you that proper punky, tribal, spiky early goth/post-punk experience! Both will be playing full headline-length sets. We're not sure of the running order - it may come down to who looks harder on the night - but the first will be onstage around 8:20. https://www.facebook.com/1919official/ https://www.facebook.com/Twisted-Nerve-official-158507227552881/ Very special guests THE SPIRITUAL BAT return to Carpe from Italy, following their spine-tingling show with Children on Stun last year. This may be their only UK gig of 2019, and they definitely shouldn't be missed! On stage 7:30 sharp! https://www.facebook.com/thespiritualbat.band.page/ The CARPE NOCTUM club night follows, with our resident DJs HGV and Misrule playing the best classic and contemporary dark alternative - goth, post-punk, industrial, garage, psychobilly, post-punk, indie, punk and what-have-you - through till 2am. It's the biggest and longest-running night of its kind in the North! https://www.facebook.com/Goth.Up.North/ THE LENDING ROOM is Leeds' finest big small venue! With state-of-the-art lighting, PA and engineers, you can get up-close-and-personal with some of the best acts around today, and still sidle back to the bar in short order. Please note the Lending Room is an upstairs venue with no level access. https://www.facebook.com/libraryvenue/ 18+ only, right of admission reserved. £7 admission, £5 for club night only.
