About this concert
Supersonic Festival has been named as the UK’s premier experimental music festival, with rave reviews from The Independent, Arts Desk and The Quietus to name but a few, and topping The Guardian’s Guide to the best experimental music festivals in Europe. Bringing together live performances by some of the worlds most extraordinary artists, visual art, and audience participation to create a legendary one-of-a-kind festival. It takes place alongside a year-round programme of live events, exhibitions and kids gigs which present the highest quality new work in ways you least expect. Supersonic Festival are immensely proud to announce iconic pioneers of heavy music, Neurosis as their 2019 headliners. Showing their discontent with convention from the very beginning, Neurosis revealed what would become an instinct for transformation in sound and scope. Going beyond the remarkable, Neurosis have become unforgettable. Please visit https://supersonicfestival.com/ for more information.

Big Joanie Biography

Big Joanie are a Black feminist punk band whose passionate live shows and punk rock ethos have led to them becoming one of the most talked about bands on the UK live scene. The band formed in the heart of London’s DIY punk scene in 2013 and acts as a space where its members (singer/guitarist Stephanie Phillips and bassist Estella Adeyeri) can be completely themselves as black women. Big Joanie released their debut album Sistahs in 2018 to wide critical acclaim on Thurston Moore and Eva Prinz’s label Daydream Library. They have since toured with acts like Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney, and Gossip, and are currently working on their second album. 2022 saw the release of Back Home on Kill Rock Stars, followed by extensive touring across Europe and the United States.
