About this concert
Friday, May 10 7PM $18 KAC Members $23 General Admission The Kirkland Art Center is happy to welcome award winning soul singer Kat Wright back to the Central New York area for a one night show! Kat Wright, whose voice is both sultry and dynamic, delicate yet powerful; gritty but highly emotive and nuanced, has been described as “a young Bonnie Raitt meets Amy Winehouse”. Add to that voice enough stage presence to tame lions, and the combination of feline femininity proves immediately enchanting. There’s soul flowing in and out of her rock ‘n’ roll with a serpentine seduction. Some of soul music’s sweet, grand dames belt, shout, seethe, and succumb, while Wright sings gently like a heartache’s apology. It’s funky in spots and beautiful all over. And it hurts a little … like it should. Upstate New York favorites The Old Main will be opening for Kat Wright, taking the stage at 7:00PM, followed by the main show at 8:00PM!

Great night! Kat wright sounded wonderful. We have seen Kat a couple times. She makes it look so easy . What a beautiful voice! The opener, Seth Walker has some new fans. Can’t wait to catch his set again. Stage One is still the perfect venue for the artist and the fans. Intimate and always sounds great!
