Born in Glasgow, Kevin McGuire may be Scotland's answer to the country music wave currently sweeping the UK. At the tender age of 21yrs, he already had performances at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and The o2 arena in London under his belt.
Heavily influenced by American country music, Kevin started writing and recording his own material at the age of 17 years old. With the ability to play both the guitar and piano, he was soon performing regularly.
Over the last few years, Kevin has carved out a loyal fanbase across the UK, supporting artists as varied as Union J and Deacon Blue, and performances at C2C, Nashville Meets London and Nashville Nights.
In 2017 his debut release, 'Foreign Country' entered at #2 on the iTunes Country Albums Chart and prompted performances on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio Scotland, as well as a host of regional and specialist support. He ended the year with a string of live performances, supporting Texan/British band Jess and the Bandits, including a sold-out show at The Borderline in London, to much acclaim.
Having spent 2018 building his fanbase both on his home turf and overseas. With the release of a Matt Healy championed reworking of The 1975's 'The Sound' and the addictive radio anthem 'As Good As It Gets', Kevin has proved he is an artist who cannot be quite so easily contained or defined.
With a series of shows already confirmed for 2019, he is excited to announce the release of 'the most special record I've ever made' in the shape of the phenomenal 'Ghost'. Never one to shy away from the personal, Kevin once again delivers an emotional narrative that is made even more compelling by the driven melody.
Boasting echoes of the stirring Mike Will production he adores and the lyrical poetics of the iconic Rascal Flatts, 'Ghost' is a moving marriage of powerful country pop and insightful storytelling. Although he is laying himself bare once again for his listeners, Kevin hopes the listening experience is one that will heighten their connection.
Nashville better prepare for Kevin McGuire. It's certain that the country singer is going places
