Lomas Biography
Jacquie Lomas is an independent Bi-racial Australian hip-hop artist who made the transition from bedroom to microphone in 2007. Born and bred in Newcastle, NSW, she relocated to the Central Coast in 2010, where she now resides. Known for her outspoken lyrics and eccentric style, Jacquie tests the hip-hop boundaries with a refreshingly eclectic approach, drawing inspiration from life experiences, such as a brief stint in the Army Reserves as a drummer and working with local politicians, allowing her to peer behind the “wizard’s veil” to see the sobering inner workings of government. After 10 years of performing, Jacquie Lomas is no stranger to the stage; she has supported home grown artists The Tongue, Thundamentals, Kerser, Rates, Dialectrix, Coda Conduct and Deadly Award Winners, The Last Kinnection. She has also supported renowned international acts such as American Rap Legends Bone Thugs N' Harmony in 2012, The Game (USA) in 2013, Spice-1 (USA) and P. H. Fat (SA) in 2015. With wide range appeal, she has performed at events such as The Irene Arts Festival Melbourne, Hip Hop for Hunger (The Hunger Project), Howl – Violence Against Women, Lock Up at Maitland Goal, Rainbow Visions, Nimbin Mardi-Grass (2012-2017) and TINA (This is Not Art) Fest Newcastle.
