Saucy Biography

Marria Casul - Lead Vocals
Having grown up, moving frequently around the Bay Area, Marria Casul gravitated toward any stage available, from choral groups, to pursuing school concert solos, talent shows, and even the nationally acclaimed choir program offered by Napa High School. After graduation, Marria pursued music further, enrolling in the Sound Engineering program at Ex’pressions College of Digital Arts in Emeryville, CA. studying advanced music theory, digital and analog recording, studio set-up including micing, mixing and more.

Marria moved to Southern Oregon in 2007, and has since had the pleasure of working with manypremier talents in the Valley. At its peak, as lead singer for Ashland, Oregon band, Funkamungus, Marria even had the privilege of opening for funk horn legend, Maceo Parker, former horn section leader of The JB’s.

When Funkamungus dissolved in 2011, Marria took some time off from the music scene to focus on her family, occasionally being asked to join in on impromptu performances from bands and personal musician friends. During this time, she was also featured on Bay Area podcaster, Ron Bello's show, Immoral Oral, alongside up-and-coming folk singer/songwriter, Brandon Zuhursky of Rivvers and her sister, LA’s own singer/songwriter superstar, Linda Casul.

After meeting her current band mates in early 2015, Marria felt like she had found that next great fit alongside other amazing local musical talents. Her excitement and enthusiasm shines bright with this group and she is having a blast, rocking the Valley as the lead vocalist for Southern Oregon’s great new variety band, SAUCY!
