The opportunity to perform countless compositions around the world would appear to be a worthy influence of delight; but James Kiwuwa and the Kiwuwa Arts Ensemble discovered something immense. Beyond the call to entertain, they connect with every audience in a way that participants understand and value each other’s culture. 


Every performance, collaboration, or workshop is a new page that gives a brand new life to a new chapter in a story of their artistic and cultural journey that advocates for youthful transformational leadership, education, cultural intelligence and community restoration around the globe.

For many years, they have dedicated a distinct combination of their voices, self esteem, and talent to echo the fading pulse of developing countries. James Kiwuwa is honored to have worked on projects with USAID, YALI, WorldHelp, African Immigrant & Refugee Foundation, Watoto Ministries, Soul Beat Africa, The African Sensation, Nomad Soul, and Community Action for Development Organization among others.

In 2012, he founded the Kiwuwa Arts Ensemble that gave birth to the Kiwuwa Foundation in Uganda, East Africa, to make a meaningful contribution toward transforming young people into instruments for sustainable social change and community development through cultural arts. Though folk music and culturally unique arts integration, James Kiwuwa & The Kiwuwa Arts Ensemble inspire young people to overcome racial tension, extreme poverty, illiteracy, youth unemployment, and poor health among others. This new perspective and approach of life, the sense behind training youth leaders and educators to help young to understand, restore and respect their cultural uniqueness has continued to shape his advocacy and hope to restore, reunite and rebuild communities.
