Josiel Konrad Biography
A virtuoso trombonist, composer and more recently singer. His inspiration is John Coltrane, Urbie Green, Djavan, Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento, Chico Buarque, Trombone Shorty, Gregory Porter and Gretchen Parlato.
Born 22 November 1986 Baixada Fluminense in Rio de Janiero Brasil a trombone player since a young age, he learnt to play music in the local church. JK is from a large musical family, his brother taught him to play and read music.
His eclectic musical style is influenced by traditional Brazilan jazz, contemporary jazz and jazz pop. Konrad released his first solo albums in 2017 called Timeline and +Amor.
Josiel plays with his quartet in all the best jazz clubs and famous venues in Rio, like Circo Voador in Lapa. He has also played at world famous Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London.
He also has a dueted with experimental Brazilian pianist Tomás Improta on numerous occasions and also played a role in the film about Pixinguinha
