Dulche

Being a small-town boy in east Texas, Justin Duke needed an escape. An escape from the dogma and normality that surrounded him, and eventually an escape through electronic music. This journey began with a move to San Francisco, CA. With no job or place to call his own, he began the search for his path and his sound. By putting in the work and through his passion for music, Justin honed his production skills, and came to know various key figures in the San Francisco music scene. During the early years he was known as a Trance artist and DJ by the name of Mitka. Having signed music to some of the biggest labels in Trance, and fortunate enough to have performed at almost every music venue in San Francisco, it was time to start a new chapter. In August of 2015 “Mitka” would end at one of the biggest Trance events in the world held in San Jose, Ca at Future Sound of Egypt 400. It may have been the end of Mitka, but it was the beginning of the musical odyssey. As luck would have it Justin Duke created the alias Dulce [pronounced dool-chey] by getting out of a parking ticket due to the officer incorrectly spelling his last name. He would later add an ‘h’ to the name making it ‘Dulche’ for copyright reasons. Today Dulche has relocated his music space to 5 and Dime studios in Oakland, CA where he writes and creates electronic inspired music with no boundaries. He is also an avid music collector and the host of Atmo, an hour-long mix show available on both Soundcloud and Mixcloud.
