Natalie Hart Biography

Natalie Hart’s musical influences stem back to her love for the dramatique and the singular, unmistakable voices of classic female vocalists of the 1940s. Growing up in “America’s Hometown” - Dallas, Texas - Natalie took on a musical identity early, being named after Natalie Cole by her father, the son of a retired Air Force pilot and music minister.

While calling influence to some of jazz’s greats - Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone - Natalie learned to refine her craft and develop her unique artistry while studying Music Business in Nashville, TN. It was there that Natalie began to write and discovered that her love for singing was deepened by her passion for lyricism. Her debut EP was released in 2012, and includes the haunting ballad “Jezebel”.

Natalie knew her theatrical jazz-pop would find a home in New York, and she began saving up to move to the city where she knew her musicality would unfold. “Hang The Moon” took shape in her last year of school and in Nashville, diving into and deconstructing youthful infatuation and playing with cinematic themes.

The album was recorded in Smoakstack Studios and mixed in LA by Greg Wells, famed producer of Adele, Katy Perry, and more top-selling artists. She left for New York with the record in hand, and has spent the last two years building a fan base in New York, London, Nashville, and more.

Natalie aims to find her voice and preserve people’s moments through her music. “Hang The Moon” will be released in 2018.
