Martian

Marvin Haskins (born January 12, 1987), better known by his stage name The MarTian – SMG or The MarTian , is an American recording artist and record producer from Buffalo, New York.
He is the founder of Planet Rack Records and records for his label. The record company was founded April 10, 2017, and identities the brand by using trademark phrase, Only Few Get Selected.

He is also known for re-inventing the Mohawk hairstyle by using no gel or glue to redefine gravity which created a new hairstyle. People often ask, What does " SMG " stand for at the end of his stage-name? the meaning is " Social Mobile Global " this help separate his music brand from other musicians using similar stage names with his name by just adding a random name before or after the stage-name " The Martian ". Later on, making the "T" capital in his stage-name, to avoid confusion with 2011 science fiction novel " The Martian " written by Andy Weir & 2015 released Movie " The Martian " directed by Ridley Scott, when search on google.

In 2004, He created Hip-Hop production group, Select Music Group consisting of record producer Trey Drum, rap artist LaaneV, Mac Millionz, and brother Shawn Dough from Dough City Records.

In 2007, He attended Villa Maria College, for music business and graphic design, four year program. He learned audio engineering and mastering from Anthony Casuccio, who is the owner of Xtream Audio Mastering, and President of Buffalo Music Hall of Fame.

On February 22, 2012, He released his first single " Party Of The Year " featuring his brother Shawn Dough. The single was first performed live at Webster Hall, on February 27, 2012, during Coast 2 Coast MixTapes, NYC mixer edition event featuring A-Mafia, Freekey Zekey, and other performers.

On May 20, 2013, He released his first studio extended player, Innovative Music and shared the stage with Shawn Dough opening up for recording artist " Cassidy " at Buffalo LIVE performing his second debut single " All I Know " from extended player Innovative Music.

On July 1, 2013, He released his third single " Champagne & Lights " from Innovative Music and submitted song to 93.7 WBLK radio station through B.V.O (Buffalo Very Own)] contest by DJ Supreme, gaining exposure from airplay on the radio station.

On August 27, 2013, He attended Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes 6th Convention at Hyatt Regency located in downtown Miami, Florida. He participated in the seminar at Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes 6th Convention hosted by Lil Fats, J- Hatch from iStandard Producers, and special guest Jahlil Beats, Baby Paul, DJ Z (DjBooth.net), Mike Trampe, Bigga Rankin, DJ EPPS, DJ Nasty, Hugo Diaz from Diaz Brothers, Gorilla Tek, Cyhi The Prynce, Gorilla Zoe, Freeway, Driicky Graham, Hip-Hop (DX).

On August 30, 2013, He performed live at Club Therapy " Champagne & Lights " opening up for recording artists, N.O.R.E, Good Belt Gang, Nature, Comptons Buck, with music by DJ Big Kap.

On June 10, 2015, He released his fourth single " Get Rich " with rapper Mac Millionz, from Buffalo, New York. The single gained 1.17 million streaming plays on SoundCloud in a month.

In 2016, He released his fifth single " Open Doors " on Soundcloud which gained 1.15 million streaming plays on SoundCloud.

On April 4, 2017, He released his album singles " THE DEVIL " with rapper Laane V , followed up by debut single " P.T.S.D " both produced by MB13Beatz,
from his unreleased studio album HOOD GOSPEL.

In 2017, He release his third extended player " Project 2 " which is a followed up of extended player " Project 1 ", expressing the sound of life in the urban projects.

On June, 25, 2017, He released 3 short extended players titled " IDENTITY THEFT " consisting of 12 instrumentals , split up into volumes with a variety of beat styles for the listeners.
