About this concert
Portland, OR songwriter, Ronnie Carrier, makes her Chicago debut alongside talented local ladies, Christina Marie and Cara Dunning at Uncommon Ground (Edgewater) Monday, July 1st at 7pm! About the artists: -Ronnie Carrier- Known for literary lyrics, captivating melodies, and a voice of humble power, Ronnie Carrier is a songwriting star rising up in the West. She cleverly crafts narratives through music with influences varying from soul to folk to southwestern rock, as illustrated songs like Entitled. and Wrong Turn at the Mad Sun with thoughtful lyrics that tug at the heartstrings, like in The Sound. Since its release in 2017, her debut album"Lost in the Eclectic" has been featured with Portland Radio Project, Women of Substance Radio, #WomenCrush Music, CCTV in Salem, and was inducted into the Multnomah County Library Music project. She is an expert at the mouth trumpet. -Christina Marie- In 2014, after three spiritually- enriching years living in Santa Cruz, CA, singer-songwriter Christina Eltrevoog returned to her small hometown in Illinois where she became reacquainted with Matthew Pittman, a friend from adolescence, who for the past several years had cut his teeth playing with various groups in music clubs throughout Illinois. The two worked together with other musical allies to produce Eltrevoog’s first recorded project Hallow EP, a concept album released in October 2015. Since early 2017, the two have been touring around the United States performing one another’s songs in an acoustic duo arrangement, Matthew Michael & Christina Marie (MMCM). MMCM is currently in production of their first album, set to release in fall 2019. When Christina is home, she performs solo and collaborates with other songwriters and musicians, such as her freshly formed female string trio, The Morning Larks, songwriter CARA, and Americana/Alt-Country band Katie Belle & The Belle Rangers. -Cara- Based in Chicago, Cara originally hails from Central Florida. On a relentless quest for a singular sound to call her own, Cara found her match in producer Matt Pittman, and together they fleshed out her sound for this album. One that is equally haunting, emotive, reflective, and longing. Martini Monday: $6 Martinis!

Ronnie Carrier Biography

Once described as Sarah McLachlan meets Nirvana, Portland-based folk-rock songwriter Ronnie Carrier’s musical world is like a haunted house with friendly ghosts. Each room is a gothic, fantastical observation on life's anxieties and addictions, risks and rewards, loves and loses. Infusing haunting vocals and Lewis-Carroll-like lyrics, Ronnie Carrier’s musical narratives are as catchy as they are clever.

With music drawing influences from pop to choral to blues to country and beyond, she’s released two albums, an EP, and several singles. She’s toured festivals and venues, taught music to kids, hosted monthly music showcases, appeared on television and radio, and is currently producing instrumental music under the name short4veronica.
