Fritz Carlton Biography

The origin of Fritz Carlton lies in the year 1997, when Olli Musolf and Sascha Fischer met each other in the punk-rock-band "Eternal Rest". They played guitar and bass and helped creating the sound with their background singing. In their own bands they allready acquired experiences as singers: Olli with "Lauch" and "Zwiebel Zwiebel Hurra", Sascha with "Gravity's Pull".

In spring 1998 "Eternal Rest" and the producer Matthias Arfmann flew to Hawaii in order to record the album "Human". Afterwords a 4-pages article in the culture supplement of the german magazine "Der Spiegel" reported on the self-organized event. The time on the strange island with its endless beaches, the huts and hotels, gave the impression of being arrived with mind and heart. A feeling of being at a place called home. But sometimes such impressions pass by as fast as a piece of music.

When Olli and Sascha met again in 2003 in Berlin, they began to write songs together. Their sound combines Indie-Rock with a 60s Singer/Songwriter-style. The main idea throughout their compositions is the thought of arriving and staying. When they play live, they mostly perform only with two guitars, two voices and cajon, so that the original idea of the song can be heard in a pure but powerful way. In the meantime Fritz Carlton recorded some songs arranged with drums, bass, strings or synthesizers.

Their track "Rush" was released on the compilation "Inter Deutschland" of the german magazine "taz-Journal" April 2006.
