Lili St Anne Biography
With lyrical melodies and unexpected syncopation, the intimate songwriting and soulfully enticing vocals of Lili St Anne envelope you in an ethereal world permeated by strains of neo-soul, 1940s jazz, appalachian folk, and human howls. Their music lives in a curious juxtaposition of whimsy and thoughtfulness, creating a haunting soundtrack that ponders themes of love and loss, exposing the vulnerability and power that lies within an old soul.
In collaboration with funk and hip-hop drummer Jason Miller and otherworldly six-string bassist Sam Arnold, Lili St Anne's performances are an uncommon genre-bending experience. Each performance is a new and fresh conversation as improvisational elements bloom throughout the onstage spectacle.
The band has recently released their first EP, "Bone Marrow”. The five-song debut weaves together stories of animals and women in an exploration of the wild feminine. As a three-piece live band that creates a maelstrom of articulate sound and honest emotion, they continue to bring their mature live show to stages in Portland as one of the most exciting up-and-coming bands in the Northwest region.
