I have wanted to see Gwen for decades. I don’t even know why it never worked out since I’m an avid concert goer. However, time was still on my side as Gwen was even more electrifying in person than I thought she would be. She has amazing stage presence that’s above and beyond. Now that I live in SoCal and Gwen is performing, hopefully I can see her again and again.

Gwen Stefani Biography

Rocker turned fashionista, Gwen Renée Stefani Rossdale (born at Fullerton, California, United States October 3, 1969) is the American new wave/pop singer, fashion designer and frontwoman of the ska punk band No Doubt.

Stefani first experienced mainstream success with the release of 1995's Tragic Kingdom, which spawned hits such as Just a Girl, Spiderwebs, and Don't Speak. But follow-up albums were successful on different levels of popularity and genre.
Gwen Stefani wrote and recorded her first dance solo album in 2004 inspired by 80s music Love. Angel. Music. Baby., for which she consulted producers The Neptunes, singer-songwriter Linda Perry and OutKast member Andre 3000 (also credited as Johnny Vulture), among others. The album contained dance and new wave tracks, including 80s-influences and ballads. The third single Hollaback Girl was a very successful international single, and became the first U.S. digital single to exceed sales of one million.

Stefani recorded her first solo album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. in 2004. The album was primarily inspired by music of the 1980s, taking Stefani's work further into more pop and dance music,[2] and enjoyed international success with sales of over seven million.[3] The album's third single "Hollaback Girl" became the first U.S. digital download to sell one million copies.[4] Stefani's second solo album The Sweet Escape (2006) yielded "Wind It Up", a moderate worldwide success, and "The Sweet Escape".[5] Including her work with No Doubt, Stefani has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.[6] She won the World's Best-Selling New Female Artist at the World Music Awards 2005.

The Harajuku Girls are four young women who were hired in 2004 as backup dancers for American singer Gwen Stefani's Love. Angel. Music. Baby. album. The "Harajuku Girls" have continued to appear alongside Stefani, and are featured in the music videos for "What You Waiting For?", "Rich Girl", "Hollaback Girl", "Luxurious", "Crash", "Wind It Up", "The Sweet Escape", and "Now That You Got It". Coincidentally, both Love and Music have worked with Namie Amuro at some time, Music as a member of the group Super Monkeys and Love as Amuro's dancer for a period.

Gwen also created a fashion brand which shares the name of her solo album, L.A.M.B. Products include all sorts of apparel, shoes, and a newer line called Harajuku Lovers.

She gave birth to her first child on May 26, 2006, a baby boy named Kingston James McGregor Rossdale. The father is rocker husband Gavin Rossdale, front man in the now-defunct bands Bush and Institute, whom she married September 14, 2002. In late January 2008, Gwen's Father-in-law announced to the press that she is expecting her second child with husband Gavin Rossdale in summer of 2008.

Gwen released her second solo album, The Sweet Escape on December 5, 2006. She worked with Keane and producers Pharrell and fellow No Doubt bandmate Tony Kanal. Although it had been speculated that the album would contain only songs originally written for L.A.M.B. that did not make the final track listing, the only two songs leftover from L.A.M.B. featured on the record are 80's influenced "U Started It" and "Wonderful Life" which features Depeche Mode's Martin Gore on guitar.
While still containing a few new wave tracks, the album was influenced by more modern pop sounds, and focuses more heavily on electro/dance music than its predecessor.
