Sarah Khatami Biography

Sarah Khatami is an Iranian American singer/songwriter based in Brooklyn, NY. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Khatami grew up surrounded by music, from her older sisters’ 90s’-00s’ R&B CDs, to her parents’ vast collection of Persian pop cassettes. Soon, she developed her own style that combined the soul of R&B vocals with the elaborate runs heard in Persian music. Khatami’s story-driven lyrics possess an effortless rhythmic flow that, when coupled with her hypnotic melodies, glides listeners on a journey through her most transformative memories.
