Charlie Jacobson Biography

Charlie Jacobson Charlie is an old soul with no fixed address, and has packed four years of full-time touring experience into his 24-year old life. He has backed up and been backed up by some of the blues giants: Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne, Russell Jackson, David Vest, Troy Turner, Donald Ray Johnson and Sherman "Tank" Doucette and Donald Ray Johnson, to name a few. Charlie is friends with 70-somethings who think they’re 20, ‘cause he’s a 20-something who seems like he’s 70. He has a pension for all things retro, including blues music, pompadours, old suitcases and garment bags. All of this foundation building paid off. Charlie’s guitar appears to be part of his body when he’s on stage. It is not uncommon to see him weaving throughout crowds and jumping from drum kit to table, while singing his heart out, and never losing a note on the guitar. With his first musical stage performance occurring at age 4, it is possible that Charlie Jacobson’s first baby soother was a guitar pick. Both of his parents are musicians and Charlie would fall asleep listening to the sounds of his parent’s band practices. Charlie became a recording artist at the age of 12, using 4-track tape recorders. In 2013 Charlie produced his first official Solo E.P. 2014 marked the Charlie Jacobson Band E.P. His first full length Album was released in 2015 titled “Alberta Flood” featuring Russell Jackson on Bass, Donald Ray Johnson on Drums, David Vest on Piano, Charlie A'Court background vocals and Tom Bona on additional drum tracks. In spring 2016, Charlie contributed guitar parts for the new Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne record, “Jumpin and Boppin for Joy”, that went to number 1 on American and Canadian Blues Charts. In winter 2016, Charlie released a Christmas Single titled " Christmas at the Commercial" while Charlie Jacobson Band performed 6 nights straight at Blues on Whyte. Currently he is performing consistently solo, with Charlie Jacobson Band and Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne. Current Toronto Based Charlie Jacobson Band is Steve Thomas on Drums and Bryant Didier on Bass. They release a single titled "Muddy Water Blues" in February of 2017. Charlie released his latest full length album titled "Travelin" in April of 2017. Bio by : Trisha Elliott www.charliejacobson.com
