Leading the charge of exciting new producers is Hilton Caswell a uniquely talented, true innovator and one of the most hyped new artists in the scene right now! Drawing on a huge range of influences from Big Room to Deep Progressive House, EDM and D&B, his production output spans the electronic spectrum. Releasing on some of the most credible and divergent sounds of the moment is just another testament to his fresh forward thinking and dynamic approach. Hailing from the Golden Cape and born into a musical family, Hilton Caswell was classically trained from a young age. With his discovery of electronic music in the late 90’s and the experience as a touring DJ in South Africa from his early teens, it was inevitable that his career would follow his passion- music. Inspired by international touring acts visiting Cape Town’s clubs and driven by this unrivalled determination, Hilton’s mind was made up and at the age of 20 he relocated to London in pursuit of his ultimate goal. Reaching his destination over six thousand miles away from where it all began, Hilton begun to weave a career into the fabric of the city’s scene, soon bagging a residency at the legendary Clapham spot Inigo. In 2006, with a blossoming DJ career gathering momentum, Hilton turned his focus to music and sound production under the tutelage of Grammy-nominated producer Mike Koglin. Hilton's debut production alongside Peo de Pitte, breaks track Room Is Spinning Quickly, was snapped up by the legendary Global Underground and found support from big names such as Krafty Kuts,Stanton Warriors, Plump DJs and man of the moment Fake Blood. Big releases on Noys Records and SQ Music cemented Hilton as a “one to watch” amongst the electronic illuminati and subsequently was a regular booking for The Gallery at Ministry Of Sound, which saw him nominated for a Best Breakthrough DJ award and sign with Mainline Music Agency in 2009. Now a regular name at mega-promoter Lock ‘n’ Load Events’ biggest parties, Hilton plays at sold out shows alongside the likes of Laidback Luke, Chuckie, Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox, John Digweed and Sander van Doorn, touring increasingly across the globe. Hilton's diary has since taken him to over 50 countries, from headlining South Korea’s Octagon, to playing Space Ibiza, to the mainstage of London’s SW4 and Ukraine’s legendary Kazantip Festival. He has also been a resident and figurehead at London’s Gigalum for some years - one of the capitals most acclaimed Sunday party venues. Moving forward to the present day, Hilton Caswell continues to progress his breakthrough productions with signature melodies and energetic beats at the core of his sound. “My contemporary influences are Pryda, Cox, Marco Carola, Richie Hawtin, Chase and Status,” he says, “hence my diversity. I will always produce a wide variety of music, as I don't want to be pigeonholed. If something is good and it makes you feel good and you want to dance - then why not?” He also cites hit making hero Nile Rodgers and DJ legend Carl Cox as big sources of inspiration: “I met Nile on two occasions and managed to have a 30 minute chat about music with him. He remembered me on the second occasion and gave me some words of wisdom. Carl and I worked together on five occasions - he just has such an aura about him and is a role model in every way.” In short Hilton Caswell is an artist with big ambitions who will give his all to fulfill them. “My goal would be to become an internationally recognised artist and performer, and to push the boundaries of music to a new level, trying to create my own genre doing so. I’d love to become a Grammy-nominated artist or even win one! ” With some huge singles up his sleeve and seemingly unlimited drive, it will be no surprise when Hilton Caswell becomes one of the select few to ascend to dance music’s A-list.
