Wednesdays: Playwrights A showcase for fresh, exciting new plays by emerging Black playwrights in staged readings. Fly Home Butterfly, by Tife Kusoro, directed by Abigail Sewell Wednesday 19 June, 7.15pm Laide came to the UK to find a better life for her daughter. She works back-breaking jobs to make ends meet for Dele's private school education. Dele tries to be academically excellent; a 'good' one. When Dele receives an offer to study at the University of Oxford, she is suddenly forced to question what it costs to belong and whether this price is worth it.

Jumoké Fashola Music Biography

Broadcaster & Vocalist Jumoke Fashola has been described as 'jazz singer who takes risks.' Check out her Debut Album, "The Condition of Being A Woman"
Jumoké has sung most musical forms, from Handel to Gershwin to Gospel to Bernstein, at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival hall and the London Arena. Her solo repertoire comprises an edgy blend of jazz, R&B and soul, eloquently expressed and dynamically delivered. Time Out Magazine describes her as a “Head-spinningly versatile singer". Her debut album, ‘The Condition of Being A Woman’ was released in Feb 2014. She is the creator and host of the monthly Jazz Verse Jukebox (held for 7 years at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club) at Hoxton Hall, London.
Jumoké currently presents Inspirit with Jumoké Fashola, BBC Radio London Sunday Breakfast magazine programme. She presented The Ronnie Scott's Radio Show on Jazz FM. Other radio credits include, Late Show (BBC London 94.9fm) You and Yours (Radio 4) Pause for Thought (Radio 2), Everywoman (BBC World Service), Good Morning Sunday (Radio 2). Her TV credits include the Holiday Programme (BBC1), Summer Holiday (BBC1) Summer Praise (BBC1).
