Adler's Appetite Biography

In 1988 drummer Steven Adler had it all; a position in metal's most notorious band Guns N' Roses, women at every turn and an insatiable drug habit. It would be that dependency on drugs that led to his dismissal from Guns N' Roses and a downward spiral that would include strokes, a heart attack and over 30 visits to emergency rooms.
Adler finally kicked his drug habit, got himself back into shape and got the urge to play music once again. He formed an all-star cover band called Suki Jones with Jizzy Pearl (vocals, Love/Hate, L.A. Guns, Ratt, etc.), Keri Kelli (guitar, Big Bang Babies, Pretty Boy Floyd, etc.), Brent Muscat (guitar, Faster Pussycat) and Robbie Crane (bass, Vince Neil and Ratt). The band made a name for themselves by playing mostly Appetite For Destruction era Guns N' Roses songs but felt that by changing their name to Adler's Appetite they could better market their live gigs.
In early 2005 the group (minus Muscat) went into the studio and recorded a self-titled mini album which was surprisingly satisfying. Pearl was unable to accompany the group to Japan for a March 2005 tour and Bang Tango's Joe LeSte filled-in. But shortly after Pearl announced he was leaving for good to concentrate on his solo career and relatively unknown Sheldon Tarsha took over on the microphone. By late 2005 the group was completely revamped with the addition of Michael Thomas (guitar, of Beautiful Creatures, Tuff and many more), J.T. Longoria (guitar, Izzy Stradlin) and Chip Z'Nuff (bass, of Enuff Z'Nuff).
Even though Adler's Appetite appears to be more of a side project with members coming and going frequently, it is great to see Steven Adler having fun onstage once again. A full-length seems to be in the cards, but where this band will end up is anyone's guess.
