About this concert
Nick Black is quickly becoming one of the most recognizable names in the pop/soul music scene. His highly entertaining live show features smooth vocals, soaring falsetto, and blazing guitar.
Join us for Happy Hour from 4-6pm in West End Kitchen and Bar located inside the lobby of the Hutton Hotel.
Nick’s newest single “One Night Love” was released July of 2018 to critical acclaim along with a neon-colored hula hoop extravaganza of a music video. Produced by Black and Memphis producer James Bennett, and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Brad Blackwood, “One Night Love” pushes Nick headlong into pop and funk territory. With hints of Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars having always been a staple of Nick’s music, they’ve truly come to the forefront of his sound in this new adventure.
Nick released his last album SUMMER + SPRING in 2017 to critical acclaim, featuring two music videos: one for the title track and one for “Joy to the Girl”. SUMMER + SPRING fused classic Memphis R&B with the spirit of new soul and funk coming out of the Bluff City.
Nick is now touring nationally throughout the Midsouth and east coast of the US backed up by his band of ten years.
AJ Ghent [ j-ent ] and his singing guitar are all about energy: musically, physically, and spiritually. He takes his family’s heirloom “the sacred steel sound” and brings it to a broader audience, by standing up; which allows him more freedom in performing and connecting with others. Over the years, Ghent has shared music with Zac Brown, Dave Grohl, and legendary freeform artist, Colonel Bruce Hampton. Ghent’s new creation ‘The Neo Blues Project’ (March 2018) debuted at #7 on the Blues Billboard Charts and is filled with everything that it should be: grooves, riffs, and above all, message.

Ashley Hess Biography
Driven by heartfelt lyrics and soul-tingling melodies the California born, New York based artist, Ashley Hess enamors and draws audiences in. She intertwines Pop with R&B, that’s backed by an emotional singer/songwriter connection that produces an astonishingly powerful performance. Hess got her start on YouTube doing covers of popular songs, bringing in fans worldwide. But it was diving into songwriting and live performance that really ignited her passion and changed the game for her.
Although much of her music has a theme of sadness and heartbreak, there is a layer of hope and vulnerability that inspires. Her raw performance is contrasted with her infectiously goofy personality that shines through on stage in between songs, as well as off stage and provides a balance that makes her relatable. It's that magnetic polarity that has allowed her to share the stage with national acts such as Andy Grammer, Jason Mraz, T-Pain, Us the Duo, and Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons. Hess is widely known as a finalist on season two of American Idol in 2019, where Katy Perry deemed her a "bonafide star" and Luke Bryan praised her as being a "world-class" and "iconic" talent.
Hess is currently recording an album that is set to release in 2023.
