Quiana Parks Biography

QUIANA PARKS is a DJ, visual artist, social-influencer, philanthropist and cancer survivor. A true Renaissance-woman, Parks captivates audiences with her effortless fusion of disco, pop, house, hip-hop and R&B. At times, Parks is known to paint while spinning her sonic canvas. Quiana’s inter-disciplinary approach to the turn-tables elevates the DJ game and illustrates her true artistic facility.

Quiana worked in fashion and design before stepping into the DJ booth. Since then, the Paterson, New Jersey native has spun for some of NYC's most prominent brands, including: Nike, Tiffany & Co.,and America Express. Quiana is sought after by brands, companies, and individuals for her raw musical instinct and rockstar presence.

In addition to her role as a DJ, Quiana is a passionate artist. During her battle with cancer, Quiana turned to painting for strength and hope. Her earliest work, “Sisters,” was created during her cancer remission and depicts the unwavering support Quiana received from the women in her life. Quiana’s most recent collection “The Un-Done Project” is a series of sketches and paintings. Often featuring interlocking faces to represent unity, “The Un-Done Project” began as an assortment of unfinished sketches. These faces are characterized by clean lines and shapes, prominent lips, and vibrant colors. Quiana chose to leave the sketches unfinished to remind the viewer that you are a work in progress filled with imperfections; that said, these “flaws” are what make you an artful masterpiece. Quiana has sold pieces of her collection at exhibitions including, Miami’s Art Basel, Soho House art show, Neiman Marcus and Oak + Fort.

Quiana’s influence extends beyond her artistry and DJing. Her sense of cool and taste for style make her a top social influencer of today. In 2014, Quiana was named one of the “Top 5 DJ’s You Should Know in New York” by Nylon Guys Magazine. She’s also been profiled in Fader, Huffington Post, and New York Times.

In addition to her demanding performance schedule and blossoming art career, Quiana believes in using her craft for good. As a proud 11-year survivor of Lymphoma, Quiana created “DJ For A Cure:” an awareness project that bridges her love for music with building a discussion around blood cancers. As a proud survivor, Quiana continues to use her talents to give other patients and survivors a voice. DJ for a Cure has raised money and donated to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Delete Blood Cancer | DKMS and Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation.
