And not just incidentally, he is committed to helping hard-working people everywhere to organize and push this world in a better direction.”  — Pete Seeger John McCutcheon has been singing his songs of the nation's heritage for more than 35 years, at The Palms Playhouse and around the world. Above all, he's a righteously passionate and impishly playful everyman, deftly switching between instruments - including guitar, banjo, hammer dulcimer, fiddle, piano and autoharp. McCutcheon's gifts as a songwriter, historian, musician and storyteller have won him such praise as "one of the best loved performing musicians in the country (Marshfield News-Herald)," "the most versatile and compelling performer this reviewer has ever seen (Pravda, Moscow, Russia)," and from Johnny Cash as "the most impressive instrumentalist I've ever heard." Doors open at 1:30 PM. Music begins at 2:00 PM. There will be two 45-60 minute sets with a short intermission. FAQs: -Can I reserve a seat? Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis; we do not generally reserve seats unless special accommodations are required. Please contact us before the day of the show; in most cases, we will be able to provide a refund of the ticket price (fees are non-refundable). -Where can I park? Plan to arrive early to find the best parking; you should be able to find a space within four blocks of The Palms. You can either park on the street or in a nearby lot; all public parking in Winters is free.
