About this concert
NOTE: John McCutcheon will play two shows on January 20. This page is for the evening show, which begins at 7:00 PM. Click here to go to the afternoon show, which begins at 2:00 PM. “John McCutcheon is not only one of the best musicians in the USA, but also a great singer, songwriter, and song leader. And not just incidentally, he is committed to helping hard-working people everywhere to organize and push this world in a better direction.”  — Pete Seeger John McCutcheon has been singing his songs of the nation's heritage for more than 35 years, at The Palms Playhouse and around the world. Above all, he's a righteously passionate and impishly playful everyman, deftly switching between instruments - including guitar, banjo, hammer dulcimer, fiddle, piano and autoharp. McCutcheon's gifts as a songwriter, historian, musician and storyteller have won him such praise as "one of the best loved performing musicians in the country (Marshfield News-Herald)," "the most versatile and compelling performer this reviewer has ever seen (Pravda, Moscow, Russia)," and from Johnny Cash as "the most impressive instrumentalist I've ever heard." Doors open at 1:30 PM. Music begins at 2:00 PM. There will be two 45-60 minute sets with a short intermission. FAQs: -Can I reserve a seat? This was a fantastic concert! I've always loved John McCutcheon's voice. But to hear his funny stories, and to watch him play the piano, the hammer dulcimer and the banjo as well as his guitar was a musical bonanza. I also found his concert to be incredibly soothing and calming: the perfect antidote to the pre-election vitriol. Thank you!
