About this concert
Two of the UK’s leading jazz vocalists, Shireen Francis & Sarah Moule celebrate two of the greatest jazz singers of all time, Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald in “When Peggy Met Ella”. Accompanied by the acclaimed pianist Simon Wallace and the noted bassist Dave Green, these two exceptional vocalists will be performing some of the greatest songs of the 20th century, from the understated purr of “Black Coffee” to the infectious swing of “Cheek To Cheek” and exploring how Peggy and Ella’s turbulent lives shaped their singing careers.

Sarah Moule Biography
Sarah Moule has made 2 CDs for Linn Records, her debut 'It's A Nice Thought' (AKD192, 2002), and 'Something's Gotta Give - lyrics by Johnny Mercer and Fran Landesman) (AKD 239, 2004), and 'A Lazy Kind Of Love (RAM001, 2008) for Red Ram Records (also on Linn as download). She has championed the songs of Beat Generation lyricist and poet Fran Landesman and British composer Simon Wallace, but her latest CD, 'A Lazy Kind of Love', sees her including material by Joe Henry, Clive James/Pete Atkin, as well as a couple of jazz standards from Bob Dorough/Terrell Kirk Jnr, and Jule Styne/Sammy Cahn.
Spring 2009 sees her debuting two new shows, BRIGHT LIGHTS TONIGHT, with Pete Atkin, which as the title suggests includes the Richard Thompson classic I WANT TO SEE THE BRIGHT LIGHTS TONIGHT. This eclectic vocal harmony pairing songs by Buddy Holly, Gillian Welch, Clive James/Pete Atkin, Wallace/Landesman, Julie Burchill, Ben E. King, Becker/Fagen, Carole King and more.
The 2nd show is I'M A WOMAN - Sarah Moule sings Peggy Lee and features interpretations of some of Lee's classic hits and song the singer introduced throughout her career.
