Jake Sarno Biography

Also known as Jacopo Sarno, Jake was the first ‘non-american’ singer songwriter signed by Walt Disney Records. He started working as an actor at the age of 5, in movies, tv series and on stage.
His devotion to music comes from far behind, when he approached Piano and Composing at the age of 4 at Yamaha School Of Music in Milan, Italy. He started playing the guitar at 9 and founded his first band at 11 as lead singer and songwriter. Year 2006, he went on tour with a musical composed by Stefano Di Battista and directed by the academy-awarded director Gianni Quaranta when he got noticed by EMI talent scouts and A&R and he got his first record deal.
At 17 he got signed by Walt Disney Records: he started working on his first album ‘1989’ between London, Los Angeles and Milan; meanwhile he played Troy Bolton in ‘High School Musical - on tour’ (+250 shows) and released the single ‘Grido’ included in the ‘High School Musical 3: Senior Year’ original soundtrack album; he appeared alongside Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and the Jonas Brothers in the album ‘Pop It Rock It 2: It’s On’; he also starred on Disney Channel original tv series like ‘The Suite Life On Deck’, ‘Quelli Dell’Intervallo’, ‘My Camp Rock’, ‘Life Bites’ and more.
In 2009, he went on tour with the Jonas Brothers as opening act and a year later he got back in studio and released another record: ‘Jacopo Sarno’ (EP). He also composed and released the theme song ‘This is Christmas’ for the italian blockbuster movie ‘A Natale Mi Sposo’, in which he also played as main role (2010).
In 2010 he moves to New York to study acting at the New York Film Academy and he develops new singing skills at New York Vocal Coaching, with Justin Stoney.
In the big apple he meets Marcus Milius (The Milkman & Sons) and takes harmonica & blues classes. The newborn friendship with his master gets Jake into studying american music, from trad-jazz to bluegrass and roots music, and Jake gets the chance to play gigs in the City alongside with The Milkman & Sons.
Going back and forth between NYC and Milan, Jake starts directing music videos and with his best friend, he founds Cloverthree, a film production company that will later grow and expand its business in Digital, Events and Music. Jake’s passion for directing music videos makes him go back to NYFA to join a filmmaking program with Rolling Stone magazine, dedicated to videoclips.
Cloverthree is now a record label and Jake is ready to release a new album, ‘Chapter 1’ (2017), produced by Fausto Cogliati, in which he dives deep into songwriting and finds a new sound that puts together american music and italian-european identity, mixing acoustic and electronic elements.
In 2017 he gets back on tour playing Sky in ‘Mamma Mia!’, performing in the most prestigious italian theatres, such as Arena of Verona, for more than 200 shows.
Jake is an eclectic artist, but music remain his first and last love: he is always songwriting and in 2019 he brings his own music back on stage with his ‘Live Club Tour 2019’.
He is also very committed to charity projects and he worked alongside with his friend Stefano Signoroni for Progetto Giovani - Istituto Nazionale Dei Tumori (the italian national cancer institute), writing and directing ‘Palle Di Natale’ (+12MLN views on YouTube), ‘Uniti Per Vincere’ and ‘Sei Tu L’Estate’.
Flag artist of his own record label, Cloverthree Music, Jake Sarno is now ‘another man’ ready to hit the road and share his music.
