Christopher Wilson Biography

Hailed by Indie-Music.com as, "A troubadour from olden times who's just visiting this era,” American indie musician Christopher Wilson has garnered many positive reviews for his guitar-driven eclectic mix of rock, pop, and folk: “Thought-provoking lyrics, reinforced by strong, emotional vocals.” -OutSmart Magazine.

After serving in the US Army, the Pennsylvania native self released numerous demos and his debut album East Mall Daze (2001). The first single “How Why & When” was featured on the Delta Air Lines fleet, while its music video went into rotation on the Austin Music Network. Wilson’s second album—Read On (2006)—charted in the CMJ Top 30, airing at college and public radio stations worldwide. Wilson worked as a medical lab scientist to finance both projects, simultaneously performing local solo acoustic shows, and touring as Christopher Wilson Band.

On March 31, 2023, Wilson returns with Insular, a concept album about mental health in the electronically connected modern world, each song personifying a state of emotional isolation. Two rock singles—and accompanying music videos—were released pre-pandemic: “Numb” explores the depths of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), while “Corner” amplifies concern about the ongoing scourge of gun violence in America. The third single “Reaching Out” transforms human vulnerability into positivity and light, while the fourth single “Why Would I” questions the sanity of love. Stay tuned!
