About this concert
THE GLOBAL PHENOMENON OF THE TRIBAL LOVE-ROCK MUSICAL RETURNS
At a controversial time, musical theatre changed forever! Hair revolutionised what was possible on stage by capturing the hippie counterculture and sexual revolution of the 1960’s, in all its illicit glory. It was the birth of Rock music on Broadway!
The politically active tribe of long-haired bohemians living in New York struggle to balance their young lives, loves and sexual revolution with their rebellion against a society engulfed by a raging war and their conservative parents. The ultimate choice must be made; resist the draft or succumb to the pressures and serve in Vietnam. Should they risk their life or their soul?
For all its pathos, Hair’s “in-your-face” irreverence and musical profanity will have you wanting to join the Tribe.
50 years on, in a world that's teetering, Hair is for anyone who believes in change; who believes in peace; who believes in equality; who believes in love. And for those who believe that some things are worth fighting for.
Featuring chart topping anthems such as Aquarius, Let the Sun Shine In and the riotous Hair!
