Sterling

1. Sterling is a Danish indie rock band, that combine sometimes quirky, sometimes serious lyrics, with catchy pop/rock tunes. It is innovative pop music sprinkled with guitars and synth sounds of yesteryear. Sterling is the first band signed to the danish label Crunchy Frog with strictly Danish lyrics. The music is gifted with a playful and poetic stance towards both their native language and the backlogs of rock - in the field between Beach Boys, Pixies and Danish band Kliché. They have currently released two albums, Solo Danser Mama Sjus and Yndigt Land, and one EP, Estadio Camp-Let. The bands latest album, Yndigt Land, came out the 30th October 2006. An english version of the album with the title 'Celebrations' will be out in November 2008. Due to its release the band changed their name to Sterling International.

2. Sterling is well known in Chicago, across the US, and in many parts of Europe for their moody and bombastic soundtrack performances. Their first album Murderer was extremely well received by those that buying it from the band on tour or from the soon-to-disappear Swey Records. Now this beautiful second album features Jim DelFosse's carefully constructed guitar and striking grand piano compositions, Eric Chaleff's dark layers of fluid and brooding guitar lines, and Tony Lazzara's [Atombombpocketknife, ex A-Set] drum kit that flows from absolutely crushing to whispering and fragile. The bass playing in Sterling comes from a number of sources including Milemarker's Al Burian and 90 Day Men's Robert Lowe, who have both recently played live with the group. Craig Ackerman of Lustre King and Abilene plays the carefully written bass lines on this new album.

3. Sterling is a British band that rose from the ashes of the band Peach. After losing singer Simon Oakes, bassist Justin Chancellor, and Rob Havis (essentially the entire band but Ben Durling), Peach changed its name to Sterling. The lineup then consisted of Ben Durling and Rod Sterling, In 1997 they released their sole album, titled Monster Lingo.
