Act of Sin

Act of Sin is a five piece metal band hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The band formed in early 2013 and released a demo later that year. The band began playing shows in the Hamilton and Toronto areas and quickly established a buzz among the metal scenes in both cities. The band continued to cement itself as one of the better live acts in southern ontario metal, getting a chance to open for established acts such as Unearth, Blackguard, Depths of Hatred, Killitorous, Vesperia, Exes For Eyes and many more. Act of Sin is set apart by its sound. Not wanting to stay in the realm of one subgenre of metal, the band grinds gears between traditional metal, thrash, death, groove, metalcore and even some grunge rock. This is brought about by the different influences each member brings to the table. The bands sound as a whole changes from song to song from brutal breakdowns and winding solos to catchy sing along choruses. September 2016 marked a new era for Act of Sin with the release of their debut EP "Casting The Second Stone". The disc attempts to capture the essence of the band's live performances and ever-changing sound, and was recorded at Schoolhouse Studios with Nick Ginn. Since its release, "Casting the Second Stone" has received numerous positive reviews from across the world. After a brief hiatus in the summer of 2017, Act of Sin has returned with new blood and new goals - to continue to build a reputation of engaging, energetic live performances and to create a worthy follow up album to "Casting the Second Stone."
