StrangeLady Biography
Big funk out of Raleigh, NC
The original four members of StrangeLady had played together in various outfits since their early youth in Raleigh, NC. However, this particular collaboration came together in the early Fall of 2009. With Day and Voller in Raleigh and Jernigan and Bostic in nearby Chapel Hill, the group developed a musical connection unlike any they had felt before. A landmark debut show on Halloween in Chapel Hill followed, and since that show, StrangeLady has brought the joyful mixture of funk, rock, reggae, and blues to the Southeast. Whether it be at a local bar, music festival, private party, or wedding reception, StrangeLady has been bringing people to the dance floor with an array of dynamic covers and original songs for almost 10 years.
Recently, drawing upon a desire to take things in a much more funky direction, the band has joined forces with a powerhouse 3-piece horn section (Harris, McCraw, and Bristol) to create the ultimate funk experience. They have poured their souls into arranging some heavy original music, while curating an arsenal of the choicest funk and soul covers, designed to keep you dancing for hours on end. When StrangeLady's in town, you know it's gonna be a party.
