Spare Change Trio Biography

This Milwaukee-based group radiates a carefree island atmosphere with tight drums and energizing bass lines, while their iconic rock drive steers the musical journey with awe-inspiring guitar riffs and vintage vocal harmonies. Known largely for their eclectic live performances that incorporate the Australian didgeridoo into flowing soundscapes of reggae, funk, blues, and jazz-fusion, SC3 consistently leaves audiences wanting more. Deeply rooted in the positive message of reggae music, the band has grown to realize their calling: to spread peace, love, and harmony… all the while laying down an infectious groove. The band’s 2015-16 tour highlights include: Shangri-La, Fungus Fest, Summerfest, and Merging Madison Music Festival, as well as making their way around the Midwest at venues such as the Bootleg at Atomic Cowboy (St. Louis), the Door County Brewery, The Miramar Theater (Milwaukee), and the High Noon Saloon (Madison). In addition, SC3 has opened for national touring acts including The Wailers, Aaron Kamm & the One Drops, and The Jauntee. Casey Stokes: Guitar and Vocals Playing most instruments with the soul of an accomplished artist, Stokes explodes when he is playing his guitar. Extremely gifted is an accurate way to describe his intuitive playing. He flows effortlessly between genres and styles, leaving masses of awe-struck fans in his wake. Sam Elliott: Bass Guitar, Yidaki (Didgeridoo) and Vocals Determined to entertain the masses, like his idols Xavier Rudd, John Butler Trio, and Nahko Bear, Sam creates driving bass lines that dance through the scales to entice the audience to commune with the Spare Change Trio vibe. He is a master of the yidaki, (commonly known as the Didgeridoo) an Australian aboriginal root instrument, that generates a tone that is both mesmerizing and energizing. http://sparechangetrio.com/
