Ms. Jones Biography
Allyssa Jones sings the moods of an old-school funk diva: powerful, playful, provocative. A poet’s songwriter, Allyssa’s sound stays true to her jazz roots as it pushes at boundaries in all directions. Her credits include over two decades of performances on club, concert and festival stages, five solo recordings, vocal arrangements for recording artists and school choirs, and original music for Boston-based theatre companies (Company One, Lyric Stage, Apollinaire Theatre Company). For the past several years, she has parlayed this experience into theatrical sound design and long-format works, including musicals, arts song cycles and film scores. Allyssa's most recent project, the web series NEW IN TOWN, celebrates her musical influences in the city where they were born: New Orleans.
