Stephen Day Tickets, Tour Dates and Concerts
About this concert
Don't miss out on the best Halloween themed show of the year. We've got a completely stacked bill that you cannot afford to miss. Caleb Hawley sold out Pretentious Beer Co. last year and with Stephen Day and Chelsea Shag joining the bill, these tickets are sure to go fast. We will see everyone at The Open Chord on Saturday, October 27th. Costumes are not required but highly encouraged! \nAdvanced Tickets are only available online via eventbrite. There will be no tickets available at The Open Chord Box Office until the day of the show.\nCALEB HAWLEY\nNew York-based, Minneapolis-born singer, songwriter, and producer, Caleb Hawley independently released Love, Drugs, & Decisions in 2017 followed by Sex Tape in 2018. Raw lyrics and somber themes are sweetened by pop beats, androgynous vocals, and sensuality inspired by the Minneapolis sound of the 80s and dance rock. Hawley writes about prescription drug culture, relating it to his battle with Tourette syndrome, depression, substance abuse and relationship struggles. His lyrics are introspective and observational, peering at the glamorous facades in society.\nHawley’s music is elevated by stellar live performances, backed by a slew of reviews noting his onstage charisma. He forms authentic connections with an air of openness, soulful singalongs and untethered guitar work. His universal reach is evident within keen pop writing that is equal parts conflict and triumph.\nSTEPHEN DAY\nWhen Stephen Day performs he exudes an ethos that captivates the audience to another level. The twenty-two year old Georgia native is clearly the middle ground product of his contemporary influences. His crooning vocals matched with his eccentric stage presence bring you to a place where you’ll find the perfect combination of John Mayer and Allen Stone come to life. Noisetrade has even proclaimed, “Stephen Day is an artist that comes along once every decade.” The soulful singer-songwriter is best described as the New Retro.\nDay’s musical journey started back in 2014 when he moved to Nashville, TN to attend Belmont University. He took his first two years of college to create and record his debut EP Undergrad Romance and The Moses in Me. Each of the six meticulously crafted works were written by Day in entirety. When the EP was officially released in April of 2016 it quickly gained popularity and “If You Were the Rain” found its place on Spotify’s Global Viral Chart. The song peaked at number two and has since racked up more than 1.4 MILLION streams on Spotify.\nDay’s new single, “Dancing in the Street” takes him to the next level. The song was co-written and Produced by Nashville-based Producer, Quinn Redmond. The pulsing rhythms and striking guitar riffs paired with Day’s undeniable power vocal have formed what is destined to be the song of your summer.\nCHELESA SHAG\nBorn and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada, Chelsea moved to Atlanta in 1996 where she developed the soul of the Southeast that can be heard in her music. After studying jazz guitar at the Atlanta Institute of Music, Chelsea began winning hearts performing throughout Atlanta and breaking through the feminine clichés. She is reinventing the image of females in music through her display of strong and unique songwriting with complex but catchy guitar style that she has been developing since the age of 11. Her live set is evocative of the spirit of the late 60’s. A funky groove, a reckless abandon, blistering solos, flower power, sunshine and rebellion. Her background vocal section flawlessly accentuates her command of the blues guitar, timbres fuse to create arrangements that are naturalistic and free spirited but simultaneously precise and intentional. The listener feels refreshed, invigorated and liberated, like a blue jay bathing in a fountain, singing sweet and sublime in a summer evening.
