Random Test Reggae Band

Since 1999 the pulsating rhythms of the Caribbean have been heard along the Jersey Shore. Random Test a culturally diverse member group hailing from Jamaica, Grenada, Trinidad & Mexico together brings a blend of Roots Rock Reggae, and Steel Pan music that has taken the Tri State by storm. Influenced by reggae and calypso musical greats such as Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, Third World, Dennis Brown, J C Lodge, Pam Hall, Rita Marley, Machel Montana, Mighty Sparrow and too many to mention. With their musical diversity as they rise to success Random Test proves they are a force to be reckoned with.


Random Test is rooted in Central New Jersey, playing regularly at Jamian's Red Bank, NJ, every Wednesday

The band performs around the Tri-State area as well-known establishments such as The Stone Pony, The Saint, Donovan’s Reef, Morristown Festival, Wind-n-Sea, Fast Lane, and Jenkinson’s just to name a few.


The band has opened up for some of the greatest reggae acts around, such as, The Wailers, Burning Spear, Culture, Wailing Souls, Third World and Kymani Marley. The name and the philosophy of the band express the belief that life presents each of us with a random test. And each one of those tests makes one stronger and more confident through the journey of life.
