Hora Douse Biography
Hora Douse are a trio from Manchester, UK. Drawing from a distinct influence of powerful, emotive artists such as Manchester Orchestra & Biffy Clyro; the band cycles through genres at will - blending together their melodic hardcore roots, with a sensitive and ‘poppier’ inclination.
Growing close as teens, they were molded by the scene around them - from touring with Petrol Girls to Happy Accidents, and playing alongside bands like The Hotelier, Fresh, Future of the Left, The Winter Passing, Milk Teeth, among others.
After a long pause, their recent singles Outgrow/Anything and Buried in 2018 created empathic statements on mental health & personal growth; anthems to process isolation, loss, and the darker realms of depression.
“[Outgrow/Anything] is a track that exposes our collective fragility and how we can often feel at our most alone when surrounded by the people we love.” - Sammy Maine, GoldFlakePaint
Recorded by Bob Cooper (Nervus, Citizen, Self Defence Family), the third single Balloons flips these themes with an angular bluntness, Tom’s vocals opening the track with: My feelings are full of shit! – subtleties removed and flexing an alternative, direct songwriting approach; demonstrating the band’s range for what else may come in a future full-length.
Hora Douse are touring with Mobina Galore in the UK this month. A limited tour split cassette (featuring Balloons) will be available from Rose Coloured Records & on all forthcoming dates.
