About this concert
Rainbow Girls are an eclectic folk trio hailing from the golden countryside just north of California’s Bay Area. Vanessa May, Erin Chapin, and Caitlin Gowdey seamlessly combine soul-touching harmonies, varitextured instrumentals, and poignant lyrical content into a beautiful sonic tapestry. Throughout their performance, voices are paired with an ever-changing amalgamation of acoustic and slide guitar, keys, upright bass, harmonica, and an array of vocal techniques creating an engaging and often emotionally moving live show. Their music delves deeply into themes of the human experience: hopeful love, honest self-reflection, and pursuits of social justice. Their latest album, “American Dream,” crystallizes these ideas in acoustic amber, encapsulating a beautiful new direction for their ever evolving sound. Originally formed in Santa Barbara, CA in 2010, the Rainbow Girls have spread their musical wings both internationally and domestically, from busking on the streets of Europe to playing pubs and theaters in the UK, to house concerts, festivals, and shows in the US. Tommy Marcus Biography

www.tommymarcus.com

Tommy Marcus, a multi-instrumentalist, performer, and songwriter based out of the Atlanta, GA area, started his musical journey eight years ago under the direction of Berklee College of Music Alumni, Mike McAllister. While his favorite instrument to perform on is the drum kit, Tommy is also proficient on and has received years of professional instruction on acoustic and electric guitar, cajon, and bass.  At times, he will add some vocals to his performances as well.

His hunger and love for music led him to other passionate musicians and ultimately to forming his first band, 60 Seconds, a teen alt-pop-punk band. As a stepping stone in his musical career, Tommy co-wrote and recorded multiple original songs alongside this band with Lewis Texidor at Arcology Studios in Cumming, GA.

Currently, Tommy is writing, recording and performing with his band Unruly Few while also attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA as a drum principle.  He is working toward a Professional Music Major in addition to a Minor in Recording and Production for Musicians.  Before relocating to Boston in the fall of 2022, he was performing, writing and recording as the drummer with his bands Cydian and Manorism. From 2017-2020 Tommy was performing as a duo with Caroline Reilly (season 17 - THE VOICE - Team Gwen Stefani) on guitar, cajon, and vocals. Tommy has played a wide variety of venues ranging from listening rooms like Eddie’s Attic and Venkman's in Atlanta to large outdoor festivals in front of thousands of people.

Tommy, over the years, has taken advantage of the opportunity to network with other musicians and key people  in the music industry. In the summer of 2019 Tommy attended the Berklee College of Music Groove School with Victor Wooten where he received the Dean's Award, being recognized as one of the top students for the program.  He also regularly attends Summer NAMM in Nashville, TN.

With musical influences ranging from Led Zeppelin, Asking Alexandria, Avenged Sevenfold, and Social Distortion, to Rolling Stones, and Chris Stapleton. Tommy’s favorite genres of music to listen to and cover are Hard Rock and Metal. He also enjoys writing his own music as well and looks forward to his next studio sessions.

During his time off from gigging, writing music, performing, recording and networking, Tommy enjoys camping at the lake, attending local music concerts, and spending time with his family, friends, and his English Bulldog, Mr. Meatball. He is always thankful for the support of his SJC Custom Drums family, his music instructors including Freedom Academy of Music Education instructor, Eric Dansie, his family, friends, and his fans.
