Doug Kazé Biography
Born and raised in Jos, Nigeria, Doug Kazé discovered a strong interest in music from his childhood and began writing songs from primary school. He was influenced by his father's roots reggae collection, then hip-hop and r&b as a teenager in the 1990s. His first move to follow his musical dreams was the formation of a group with his friends while in grade nine. This group however was a disappointment to Doug because the other members of the group did not share his passion. Years later Doug joined and led church music ministries, learnt to play the guitar and along the line in 2004 started an independent band known as Trybe of the Sealed. With this group, Doug experimented with the rock and local musical material to produce a unique modern sound. Today his music takes elements from all the genres that have influenced his musical taste.
Doug released two singles in September 2014, 'Ya Mai Iko' and 'Run for Me', and a full length self-titled album in November 2014. His music is available at digital stores via cdbaby.com.
Doug's new album, Paradigm Shift, will be released later this year.
