Armor Of God Biography

ARMOR OF GOD`s history begin back in the year 2011. However, its soul and purpose is much older and it was already lingering in Orlando Vicente`s mind for many years prior to its conception. Influenced by different metal styles including one of his favorite bands "Stryper", in the 90`s he started developing his technique singing and playing guitar for his first band Ellipsis during high school years. Later he joined the popular Puertorrican heavier sounding metal band "Macheteros," as a guitarist during his college years. Years after writing his own material, and having the urge to spread a positive message through heavy and uplifting music, he finally started to meet the right musicians to make the band a reality. Soon after meeting drummer Henry Leonardo, they started rehearsing and giving form to the soon to be “Armor Of God.” Joining the band on bass guitar was his longtime friend Luis Martinez who had previously played with Orlando on a few occasions. This is true as well for Rimond Slaathaug, harmony master on both guitars and vocals. Also joining on lead and harmonic vocals they have Orlando’s wife Karla Danielle who had previously recorded an album with “La Cooperativa” from Puerto Rico, and Diana Murillo a veteran Church vocalist. On March 2018 they changed the lineup when Hector Acevedo became the new bass player for the band. With all these different backgrounds and styles fusing together, AOG became a reality. The band has become even more than a powerhouse of heavy fast and melodic metal, it brings a message of higher conscience, respect, service and above all of infinite love.
