Ruler Biography
In May 2009 Mattia Baldoni and Paolo Pontiggia (Guitar and Bass), after a disastrous experience in a Speed Metal band, decided to start a band faithfully devoted to the pure and uncontaminated European and British Heavy Metal.
Only in April 2010, after a huge quest for musicians with their same musical tastes and attitude they finally found vocalist Daniele Francesco Valentini and, by the end of September, Rosario Alcaro as drummer.
With the line-up finally completed, the songwriting process could start. After long and hard rehearsals, the band performed live for the first time ever at Blue Rose Saloon (Bresso) in May 2011
After that "baptism of fire", Ruler had the opportunity to share the stage with many heavy metal “totems", such as Girlschool, Helstar and Sacred Steel
In January 2012 Ruler signed for "My Graveyard Productions", a well-known italian label; subsequently Ruler started the recordings for their first full-lenght "Evil Nightmares" at the Elnor Studios, located in Magnago (April 2012).
Between 2012 and 2014 Ruler had an intense live activity , both in motherland and outside , playing in festivals such as: Up The Hammers (Greece), Brofest (UK), Heavy Metal Maniacs (the Netherlands), Heavy Metal Espectros (Spain), Power & Glory (UK), Headbangers Open Air and Metalheadz Open Air (Germany), plus several shows in Spain, UK, Belgium, Germany and Austria, including a mini-tour supporting Ostrogoth.
In Italy, Ruler had the honour to play in three of the most important festivals: Heavy Metal Night, Play It Loud and Italian Play It Loud, also supporting legends like Tygers of Pan Tang , Vicious Rumors , Weapon , Nifelheim , Vulcano , Battleaxe, and Attacker.
Meanwhile, in October 2013 they released "Rise to Power ", the band's second full-length album, under MGP once again.
In October 2014 Paolo Pontiggia leaves the band due to personal issues not related with the musical activities nor the relationship with the other components. His spot was filled by Mirko Negrino, who previously played in the thrash metal band Endovein .
Ruler is actually planning some 2015 gigs over the Italian border, particularly in Spain , Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and England . By next fall, Ruler also plans a new studio recording.
