The Suicide Tapes

The Suicide Tapes are a four-piece vocals/guitar/bass/drums band based in East Herts (Hertford/Ware), initially formed in 1983 out of the post-punk/gothic scene and drawing influences from Bauhaus, The Cult, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Joy Division, The Cure, Bowie, et al. After making an impact in the Herts, Essex and London indie circuit venues, during which they also released an EP, and twice playing support to New Model Army, they separated amicably to pursue other interests.

Now reformed and back on the road with new and original material, re-crafted by the refinements of maturity, the experience is fresher, bigger and no less relevant and, in addition to their returning original fans they have begun to draw in new fans of all ages; from youngsters not even born on the first incarnation, to other contemporaries (and older!) who are hearing it for the first time with new ears, but with a hint of authentic nostalgia.
