Alma, a feisty career shoplifter with serious street cred, spends her time helping her less fortunate neighbours, and sticking it to the man, by redistributing what she sees as undeserved corporate profit. Dom, a righteous crime fighting evangelist having a very busy first day on the job, catches Alma and her skittish sidekick, Phyllis, with a couple of rib steaks stuffed up their skirts. Otto, the world-weary head security guard is called in to interrogate but it soon becomes apparent that he has a more magnanimous opinion of Alma’s sticky fingers. A hilarious examination of the effects of capitalist culture on the haves and have-nots.
For a truly Montreal experience, the playwright has adapted two of the English-speaking characters into Francophones in an all-new script created especially for Centaur.

The Shoplifters Biography
I "The Shoplifters" nascono ad Acqui Terme nel Marzo del 2014 dall'unione di tre amici, proponendo nuovi pezzi e riarrangiando inediti di vecchi progetti. Già a settembre, forti delle date estive, i "taccheggiatori" si chiudono in studio a registrare il loro primo LP: "The Dark Part of The City". A fine 2015 il progetto si vede costretto a un cambio di formazione, che renderà gli Shoplifters un quartetto e non più un trio. Il nuovo sound potrà essere apprezzato in "Junkie Business" rilasciato ad Aprile 2016, dal piglio decisamente più garage che affronta tematiche come la depressione, la dipendenza e i limiti della vita in provincia. "Junkie Business" verrà supportato da un tour promozionale che ha visto il gruppo su vari palchi, tra cui quelli del "Radio Savona Sound Rock Festival", Rock'n'Roll di Milano, L'Officina Concerti di Alessandria, Festival del Verdicchio a Staffolo(Jesi), e altri ancora. Verso Marzo 2017 gli Shoplifters si stabiliscono definitivamnete con l'ennesimo cambio di formazione con cui iniziano a scrivere gli inediti che comporranno il terzo album, in uscita nel 2018.
