FAULKNER Biography
"Since Faulkner’s emergence, the bi-coastal rockers who formed in Venice, CA. have hit the ground running on their journey to success. Landing an unfinished demo of their song “NY Anthem” in the hands of RZA, the Wu-Tang Clan mastermind, Faulkner captured the hip hop God’s interest, leading to their first major collaboration. As a result, the track can be heard at the New York Yankees home games.
But New York isn’t the only place giving them love. Emphasizing the term “bi-coastal,” the rockers have also been featured on iconic L.A. radio station KROQ for their single “I’m Stoned.”
Recording their yet-to-be-released debut album, Street Axioms, at Rick Rubin’s Shangri La studio & East West, RZA and co-producers Mark Needham (The Killers) and JP Bowersock (The Strokes) perfected the distinctive irreverence of Faulkner’s first record.
The LP offers an unapologetic subversive sound, as it tastefully blends lyrical rawness with powerful rhythm, polished percussion and technical precision. The musical chemistry between Lucas Asher, Eric Scullin, Dimitri Farougias and Christian Hogan is undeniable, and Street Axioms is an irrefutable demonstration of such.
“This record is a soundtrack from the times I lived on the streets in Brooklyn and all the harsh realities of a dislocated childhood and isolation of youth,” says Asher.
With surprise collaborations and a slew of up coming performances following the mid-summer release of their debut record Street Axioms, Faulkner is set to issue their anticipated EP titled Revolutionary, giving us a glimpse of the music that’s to come. "
