The Bridge City Sinners take folk songs in the direction of a punk rocker. A rowdy folksy mosaic of banjo, violin, guitar, upright bass, ukulele and saw. The Sinners started their journey as a rotating cast of friends in 2016 who just wanted to play music on the streets “busk” in Portland, Oregon. They have transitioned into a powerful force playing festivals in 2018 such as Vans Warped Tour, NW String Summit, the Fest, & Seattle Folklife Festival. Back in the late 1800's and early 1900's there was a general store called Robber's Roost in the valley that is now Ellensburg, WA. Because this region had no name by default it was referred to as "Robber's Roost." Robber's Roost was also a hideout for outlaws in southeastern Utah for outlaws like Elzy Lay and Butch Cassidy who formed the Wild Bunch gang during the same time period as the general store was in business. Robber's Roost (the music) started as a three piece act with Guitar, Mandolin and Acoustic Bass. Through many variations, Robber’s Roost has slowly become increasingly folk and harmony based. With one original songwriter; Mark Paschen, and Wrenegade Paschen joining in harmony, all the while new material seems to naturally flow as they write music together.
