This was our 7th Old Dominion concert, but I will admit, it was my least favorite. We’ve bought VIP every single time we’ve had the opportunity and enjoyed our private performances- which really enhanced the connection that the guys always seem to have with the audience, which always seemed to lead to heavy fan interactions during the shows themselves, etc… This show everything just felt- for lack of a better word- forced.
Matt didn’t seem to want to be there- almost like tour burn out?? Don’t get me wrong- they are INCREDIBLE live, and the performance itself was ON POINT. But they just didn’t show the genuine love to the fans that I’ve seen so many times before. It was disappointing because I am acutely aware of the energy that was missing from the show.
I hope that connection they’ve always seemed to have in the past comes back the next time around… they have always been one of my favorite live performers because of it! 💖 (we attend 18-20 concerts overall a year.)

Old Dominion Biography
Old Dominion has emerged as one of the hottest breaking bands out of Nashville, fusing clever lyrics and an infectious sound. Their lyrical wit and hook heavy songwriting has certainly proved a winning method: since breaking onto the music scene in 2014, the band has notched eight No. 1 singles at country radio, surpassed one billion on-demand streams, earned several Platinum and Gold single certifications and headlined arenas and amphitheaters around the globe.
Old Dominion are currently the reigning CMA and ACM “Group of the Year.” The band recently took home awards for “Song of The Year” for their hit single “One Man Band”, and “Group of the Year” at the 2020 ACM Awards. These wins mark the band’s 4th and 5th ACM Awards, and third consecutive win in the “Group of The Year” category. Collectively, the band led nominations for the 2020 show, with 8 total. At the 2020 CMT Awards, the band took home their first win for “Group Video of The Year”. The group also notched two nominations for the 2020 CMAs including “Vocal Group” and “Album of the Year” for their self-titled 2019 studio album, nominations for “Top Country Duo/Group” and “Top Country Song” for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards, as well as a “Favorite Duo/Group - Country” nod for the 2020 American Music Awards.
Over the course of their career, the band has also been notably named ACM “New Group of the Year,” ACCA “Breakthrough Group of the Year,” AIMP “Songwriter Artist of the Year” and Music Row “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” and in 2017, front man Matthew Ramsey was ASCAP’s “Artist of the Year.” The band has also received nominations for CMT Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Awards, and iHeart Radio Awards.
This year, the band received their first two GRAMMY nominations for “Best Country Duo/Group Performance” and “Best Country Song,” for their hit single “Some People Do” which is featured on their self-titled third studio album. Most recently, the band scored 2021 ACM Nominations for “Group of the Year” and “Song of the Year” for “Some People Do.”
Old Dominion consists of lead singer Matthew Ramsey, lead guitarist Brad Tursi, multi-instrumentalist Trevor Rosen, bassist Geoff Sprung and drummer Whit Sellers.
Their melodic and stunning self-titled third LP was released on October 25, 2019.
