June Bloom Biography
June Bloom is a Psych/Pop/Rock solo project from Boston musician, Patrick Carr. Carr has played in numerous bands as a keyboardist, bassist, and guitarist since moving to Boston in 2010. June Bloom is a genre departure in addition to a change in role for Carr as sole songwriter, engineer, and producer. 2017 saw the release of “Bloomin,’” a six-song EP recorded using acoustic guitars and drum machines layered with vintage keyboards and vocal harmonies. Carr has created a sound that is reminiscent of early Pink Floyd and The Zombies yet calls upon neo-psychedelia in the vein of Animal Collective and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
As of March 2018, Patrick has teamed up with bassist Charley Ruddell and drummer Josh Strmic to perform club dates in the Boston area. The sound they produce on stage matches that of a 5 piece rock band with Carr playing a Fender Rhodes and a Wurlitzer 7300 combo organ. The trio has incorporated synths into the live set-up as well, with Charley doubling on synth bass. The three went into the studio with Boston sound engineer, Matt Peiffer, to record two songs at The Record Company. June Bloom plans to release these songs in early 2019.
